Even though the Gunners are now adrift of the top four, and manager
Arsene Wenger on borrowed time, this one is the definitive home banker.

With a leaky defence and poor attack, the ‘Potters’ (STO) will need all
the luck in the universe to take a much-needed three points from north
London. However, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that they will
end a run of nine straight defeats at the Emirates Stadium.

A 2-1 home defeat to Everton in their last outing gave Stoke the
distinction of having the worst defence in the entire league, with a
whopping 58 goals conceded to date. Away form is also an issue, with
Stoke taking just two away points from the last 15 available and scoring
just twice – the second-lowest total in that particular form table.

Though this calendar year has been unkind to Arsenal, the Gunners have
had no trouble scoring at home against teams below them, netting twelve
goals in three home games against inferior opposition.

Simply put, all Stoke can do is turn up and hope that the Gunners’ full
focus really is on the Europa League (as a means to Champions League
qualification). Arsenal cannot afford to be complacent, however, as they
are without a clean sheet in three games.

Players to watch: Danny Welbeck was at the double in Arsenal’s last game
– a 3-1 home win over AC Milan. He currently has three goals in 20
league matches this season.

Saido Berahino (STO), a forgotten man since his exile from West Brom,
ended a long goal drought when he scored against Everton in his last

Stat attack: Arsenal have conceded first in five out of their last seven

Stoke are winless in seven and four of their last five games have
produced under 2.5 goals.
